Just Another Perfect Day in the T.O.
Woke up this morning to a sunny Toronto day. After what I still consider a slightly excessive dawdle, we arrived at Canada's, and thus arguably the world's, finest donut emporium, Jelly, where we purchased both donuts for immediate and longer-term gratification. From thence, sure, yes, we went to two used book stores. Fine. Go ahead and criticize, but know that you're criticizing robin_d_laws when you do so. Oh, yeah, not so funny now, is it?
Anyhow, then we lunched on bokit, French West Indian sandwiches, which demonstrated my solidifying theory that to really raise your game culinarily, try to be occupied by theFrench for a century or two. Vietnam, Morocco, Senegal, New Orleans -- the list goes on and on. Anyhow, then it was off to Fan Expo Canada. Ken and Robin Talk Live went well, my Q&A Spotlight was gratifyingly well attended and received, and I made it in for the last 3/4 of the Game Master Master Class panel, which was nearly full, with a plurality representing a very promisingly young and gender-balanced demographic.
From that triumph it was off to another bookstore, the better to work up an appetite for poutine, not that one really needs to work at such an appetite. Back chez Laws, we devoured the poutine along with a flight of Ontario craft beers (Mill Street Stock Ale for the win by a neck and head) and the aforementioned donuts. (Still tasty hours later through some Calgarian alchemy.) Genial palaver exchanged, and so to bed.
